Amendment No. 2 was offered by Representative Martin: Page 2, line 24, after "Borough": Insert "University of Alaska" Representative Martin moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 2 be adopted. Representative Mulder objected. 1993-02-08 House Journal Page 0260 HJR 24 Representative Martin moved and asked unanimous consent to withdraw Amendment No. 2. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 3 by Larson: Page 2, line 24, after "Anchorage": Add ", the Matanuska Susitna Borough" Page 3, line 7, after "Anchorage,": Delete "and" Insert "the Honorable Ernie Brannon, Mayor of the Matanuska Susitna Borough;" Representative Larson moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 3 be adopted. Representative Navarre objected. Amendment to Amendment No. 3 was offered by Representative Navarre: Page 3, line 8, after "Borough": Insert "; and the Honorable Jim Hayes, Mayor of the City of Fairbanks" Representative Navarre moved and asked unanimous consent that the amendment to Amendment No. 3 be adopted. There being no objection, it was so ordered. There being no further objection to Amendment No. 3 as amended, it was adopted. 1993-02-08 House Journal Page 0261 HJR 24 Technical Amendment to Amendment No. 1 (page 258) was offered by Representative Brown: Page 1, line 5 (title amendment): After "identify", delete "state", insert "public" Representative Brown moved and asked unanimous consent that the technical amendment to Amendment No. 1 be adopted. There being no objection, it was so ordered, and the new title appears below: HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 24 amended Relating to the shortage of adequate housing for military personnel and their dependents, directing the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and certain municipalities to develop a joint program for improving the inventory of housing for those personnel, urging the governor and the commissioner of natural resources and local officials to identify public land that might be made available for that housing. Representative Phillips moved and asked unanimous consent that HJR 24am be considered engrossed and advanced to third reading. Representative Martin objected and withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, it was so ordered and HJR 24am was read the third time. Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that HJR 24am be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 4. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 4 was offered by Representatives Davies, Hanley and Porter: Page 2, line 6: Delete "decent" 1993-02-08 House Journal Page 0262 HJR 24 Page 2, lines 20 and 21: Delete "desirous of contributing and committing state resources" Insert "interested in working" Page 2, lines 24 and 25: Delete "and to implement" Representative Davies moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 4 be adopted. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The following technical amendment was offered by Representative Navarre: Page 3, line 5, after "Defense": Insert "the Honorable Major General Hugh L. Cox III, the Adjutant General Commissioner of the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs" Representative Navarre moved and asked unanimous consent that the technical amendment be adopted. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The question being: "Shall HJR 24am pass the House?"
